In fact, of the four only the Sacramento was able to do 30 knots or more, the others (Camden, Seattle and Detroit could manage 26 knots) and she repeatedly beat all the other fleet replenishment vessels, sometimes even appearing on a certain spot way ahead of the Carrier or Battleship Task Force she was assigned to!

I just want to announce that I'm not stopped working on USS Sacramento, but fully engaged to change my first draft. Originally I wanted to make her as she looks, when she was commisioned in 1964. But all though I got several pictures from the sixties they were - more or less - all from the port side. How many times she had been refitted I don't know, but recently I found a bunch of photos from starboard, but all from the last of her service time (2000 - 2004). Right now I'm busy with the changing to the "new" (or rather "last") look. It's a bit more complicated than I anticipated :? ;)

Now I've made my first draft of USS Sacramento in her last year. With more than 40 years in service she had changed several times. I'll reckon it's possible to make at least five different editions of her because of the refittings made during these years. The challenge is to find the proper informations, blueprints and photos etc. ;)
But here she is. Only as the first draft but the big blocks are in place now. :D
