This is hot stuff! Minor comment: there are way better drawings of the SPS-10 and SLQ-32 on the Wiki. I also wonder why the propeller shaft and bilge keel are shaded darker then the surrounding hull. |

Over on the shipbucket discord server we were discussing some stuff to do with shading, and your drawing came up. I wrote up some constructive criticism regarding it, and acelanceloet proposed that I should post it here so that you might have a greater chance of seeing it. So, without further ado; The panel lines are all in a uniform color when they should change along with the shading The bilge keels should be highlighted not shaded The prop shafts should have 3-tone shading with highlights, base, and dark shading, and they should definitely not be shaded darker than the rest of the underwater hull The domes for comms dishes and whatnot should be shaded There are a lot of overhangs that don't have overhang shading as dictated by the style guide A lot of the equipment (CIWS, life rafts, etc) aren't shaded There are a couple locations where highlight or dark shades are used in reverse of how they should be (light should always comes from top-right) It's a really nice drawing from a linework perspective, though, and overall I like it a lot! These are just some minor notes regarding ways to make the shading compliant with the style guide. |
