I COME BEARING GIFTS!...this time the Venilia Class of Ferries from Japans "Higashi Nihon Ferry" which sadly no longer exists, Interestingly all 4 ships eventually ended up in Indonesia in the End, but sadly one (Venilia herself) met a Violent Fiery end in the Maselembu Islands...only a few miles away from the Tampomas II's wrecksite which is...a creepy coincidence...also built by the same shipyard, same design teams, roughly same size, and also same "history" of mechanical failures and towings after arriving in Indonesia, but its all coincidence right?...riiiight

anyway, Area 51 conspiracy theories aside, here we go

firstly Venilia as Built in 1988:

then in 1990 with a fleet-wide Repaint and Refit of all older ships:
[ img ]

then after her Sale in 1995 to Korean Operators as "Da-In" (note how they kept the Higashi Nihon "Rainbow" Stripes
[ img ]

then at some point in the early 2000s (exact date unknown) she was repainted with a Blue Stripe
[ img ]

in 2010 she was refitted and had some of her airflow "cutouts" sealed shut with Thin steel (which later during her fire deformed and discolored differently to all other plating interestingly)
[ img ]

in 2015 she was Sold to Indonesian Operators (PT. ALP) and given new company colors
[ img ]

and Finally, in early 2017/Late 2016 she was given these...very obviously copyright infringing "CITY LINE" colors stolen from the newly acquired Mutiara Sentosa 2 and 3 (which were never even altered aside from the funnel logo from their Japan days with the ACTUAL City Line) and she wore these colors for only a few months until her fire and beaching, where she allegedly still sits without any removal efforts

Next up is Virgo, interestingly she Lacked a bow side-ramp and was overall more "smooth" compared to the largely Jagged edges of her older sister (also note different Anchor design)

as Built in 1990 (all ships post 1990 were built with updated "blue" accent colors)
[ img ]

in 2008 she had her rainbow stripes painted white, leading to her being sometimes referred to as "White Virgo" in Japanese Circles (she retained these until late 2009/early 2010)
[ img ]

in 2010ish She was sold to Tsugaru Kaikyō Ferry and Painted in this Dark Blue livery
[ img ]

in 2014 She was Sold and Refitted in Indonesia for "Jemla Ferry" as "Virgo 18"
[ img ]

in around 2016 (exact date is spotty) she was refitted again and her paint layout was changed ever so slightly, also another cutout was added to her side for easy offloading

Next is one of the weirder ones, the Vega of 1990. for some reason she Had the Side bow ramp like the Venilia but for some reason the Visor and forward door was never added, a feature later found on the Silver Queen/Venilia 2 Sub-class (which I also am working on)

as Built in 1990:

After the collapse of Higashi Nihon she was sold to Silver Ferries, where she was given these quite nice Stripes and a Striking Red Funnel with a large white "K" Symbol:
[ img ]

in 2013 she was Replaced by a newbuild and sold to Indonesian Operators "DLU Ferry" who gave her a rather large makeover, sawing the bow off and adding a ramp and also adding a new lifeboat on her Port Side, AND Renaming her "Dharma Rucitra I" :
[ img ]

in 2015 she had a minor Refit which added a new cutout to her top car deck and also altered her livery slightly:
[ img ]

Finally (for now) in 2020 she had a larger refit which lengthened her bow ramp slightly (also painted it blue), gave her a new Livery, and seems to have had an interior overhaul as well:
[ img ]

and Finally the 4th and Last Ship of the Original Quartet, the Virtus:

as Built in 1991 (note how she now has all 3 ramps again like Venilia):
[ img ]

in 2006 she was Sold to South Korean operators "Hanil Ferries" and renamed "Hanil Car Ferry No.1":
[ img ]

finally just last year she was sold to Indonesian operators "NBC Ferries" and Renamed "Amadea", where she now operators alongside an older Higashi Nihon Fleetmate "Veda" of 1986, now renamed "Amarisa"...oh also she suffered a grounding right as she entered service, hopefully thats not an Omen...:

NOW...if you excuse me I need a rest, I've been working nonstop on these for days lol
