Post subject:  Littorio Class: So Much Potential

The Littorio class, also known as the Vittorio Veneto class, was a class of battleship of the Regia Marina, the Italian navy. The class was composed of four ships: Littorio, Vittorio Veneto, Roma, and Impero, but only the first three ships of the class were completed. Built between 1934 and 1942, they were the most modern battleships used by Italy during World War II. They were developed in response to the French Dunkerque-class battleships, and were armed with 381-millimeter (15.0 in) guns and had a top speed of 30 knots. The class's design was considered by the Spanish Navy, but the outbreak of World War II interrupted construction plans.

I've added the Roma as she appeared in 1942.

Looking beautiful. I like where your style has been going. Will you be revisiting any more of the Italian ships? Would love to see them get a touch-up.

I've yet to do the Andrea Doria/Caio Duilio rebuild. I'll also have to add a Littorio/Vittorio in 41 with the grey and beige camo scheme and the 42 version with the dark grey/light grey splinter camo and a 43 version with radar.

A very solid drawing, but it feels like the shading could be taken a little further. In particular, the boats aft and the main superstructure feel a bit "flat".

That's how it's supposed to be. Large portions of the superstructure are completely bare, devoid of anything other that paint.

I've added the Vittorio Veneto as she appeared in 1940, 41, 42 and 43.
I've also added the Roma as she appeared in 1943.
Littorio is technically done, I just need to spend a few hours adding her 1941 and 42-43 camo.

Awesome job on all of them! I'm guessing there will be a 1943 Italia one as well? And might there be a forthcoming Impero drawing in the 'Never Were' section?

You're in luck, I just added the Littorio as she appeared in 42 and 43. All that's left is adding the 1941 version with a similar camo to the Vittorio. I doubt I'm gonna add the Impero, as she likely would be identical to the Roma.

Edit: Just added the Littorio as she appeared in 1941. I've now added all the relevant additions of the entire class so far. There is not point doing the Impero as hypothetically completed as she would be the same as the Roma.
