When WW1 ended, the Royal Navy was the biggest operator of aircraft carrying ships, and so all pre-war conversions were gradually taken out of service and sold. HMS Engadine was sold commercially and ended as the Philippines inter0island steamer Corregidor. The ship came to an untimely end when leaving Manila through the protective minefield the ship suddenly veered to starboard and into the minefield and sunk.

The following ship is a C2 S B1 type vessel built by the MARAD during WW2. In 1946 the Ward line as part of AGWIlines was considering converting five C2 hull into combination cargo and passengers ships for their New York and Havana service see here,, but eventually the five ships were slightly modified to carry 12 passengers only. In 1954 the Ward Lines was sold to T & J Stevenson (as part of AGWIlines) and he continued the service with Norwegian flagged ships till 1959 when the service ended.
