In the meantime here is another ship of the 1950, built in Great Britain, for Greek interests and carrying the flag of Liberia - the shape of things to come...

The ship was off-loading its first cargo, returning from the Persian Gulf to Cardiff on its maiden voyage, when a big explosion shook the ship and a large fireball shot-up and engulfing the ship. Numerous fire-fighting vessels and trucks were used to extinguish the fire, which claimed the lives of many crew members. The next day the ship was partly on its side, her back broken. It was decided she was worth repairing and so, she was cut in half the two sections were towed to the builders yard (Wm. Grey & Sons, at West Hartepool), and the sections were joined, a new midship structure rebuilt, and the ship re-entered service. Finally scrapped in 1973.
