the first post has been updated with reworked drawings of "Gneisenau".
After re-evaluating my earlier attempts, I came to the conclusion that they contained many mistakes.
Decent references for "Gneisenau" were hard to come by - In stark contrast to her sister "Scharnhorst", were there is a plethora of good drawings available.
Thats why most illustrations and plans of "Gneisenau" show her with lots of wrong details and fittings that only her sister had.
I tried my best to remedy these mistakes and hope I have spotted most of them...

I have also "redated" my earlier drawing of her during "Operation Berlin".
This time I show her after returning to Brest on 22nd March 1941.
The grey and white colour on her hull represents layers of earlier paintjobs coming through the coating of dark grey.
This was caused by enduring months of harsh conditions and salt water in the Atlantic.
I have included a port view (directors turned forward resp. aft), as the discolouration was only visible on that side.
