I'm sorry, I have first discovered this now (more than a half year after posting!), but I have to draw the attention to the badge. Though many internet fora - amongst them e-bay - says this badge is for the G-class destroyer HMS Glowworm, it isn't! Instead it is for the WWI gunboat of the Insect class with same name. All destroyers in service in the years between 1920 to 1940 had shield shaped badges.
I've also discovered some no go issues in the badge. It's a copy paste which are cleaned and mostly made to pixel art. But only mostly! The beams edges are not drawn

And the white in the lamp is plain white. Also no go.
Sorry to be so rough, but if we begin to compromise on the badges on ship templates going to uploading, then the next step will be going compromise the ships too

Yeеs, half years is quite a long time. I have not dug so deeply. I knew about the two badges and reason to choose the badge with square frame was this image

If you claim is true (I do not know and am not an expert), will remove the badge and the issue is resolved.

I've seen the old badge was used in several occasions (as your example shows), maybe because people better liked the looks of the diamond shape, but the official badge approved by the Admiralty was the shield shaped, which was the official badge shape for all destroyers and subs until the badge reform in 1940. I don't think you will have difficulties to redo the badge.
Copy paste the motive and enlarge it to fit in the shield shaped frame. Then use a light grey to fix the edges of the beams and alter the plain white a little. Suddenly you'll have a proper and nice badge, ready for me to "steal" and put in a template
