Tried submitting a fix for Saginaw. Will check later to see if drawing updated.
The Laird rams became the Scorpion class ironclad. HMS Scorpion and HMS Wivern. Both commissioned in 1865.
@GD: I've semi cookie-cuttered sails. Basically two color families I use (Flax or Cotton based) I think it's like 4-5 colors each. There is also a set methodology which I should write down and share that includes set pixel counts, rigging line colors to suggest lineweights, etc. The tough, painstaking part are fore and aft sails and all the pixel counting. I also stay away from pure blacks on the rope and fabrics. @Hood: Wood and Rust colors/textures are in development. The Confederate vessels didn't get a lot of paint as the war progressed. That sort of thing cost time and money PLUS...was in very short supply. I'm not sure if they even tarred the wood hulls. So, we have an opportunity here to develop some new textures and techniques that should apply to subjects of all time periods. @Rob2012: Laird rams...don't see why not! Need to be labled "Never Delivered" and "To Great Britain (186_) with the ship name". Working on the rest of the Confederate Rams. May or may not touch the "Cotton Clads", etc. I'll burn out by then. Also slowly working on other USN Steam Navy vessels. CraigH CraigH |

What an amazing thread it became. I applaud your dedication (pixel counting, is it?) for getting these drawings to represent these ships, when photographic evidence is so scarce. A jaw dropping thread for sure, and anxiously waiting for more... |

Is this thread dead now? Because their were so many other ships that could have been drawn. |

If a thread is dead please PM the people involved instead of resurrecting it from the depths asking for an update, thanks in advance |
