This might not fall under the rule as these were emergency repairs and the ship was sea worthy and able to return to Germany. Been looking at some photo of her minus stern and other damage is superficial so could be ignored.... TimothyC may be able to shed more light on the rule....

I don't think it falls under the damaged rule, that generally applies to battle damage like scorching, shellholes, blasted superstructures, smoke, or sunken wrecks.
I think this is good because I'd never actually come across a picture of this repair before and its quite interesting to see how it was done.

The ship is shown in repaired condition, even if pretty badly done repairs, but there is no proplems present the ship in such condition when it was mostly still in commision. The damaged ship rule is mostly against kids using our drawings to statisfy what ever catastrophe porn addiction they had, with complete disrespect towards the ship and its crew.

I had found the picture a few years back when I was doing some research on the US atomic weapons test program, but though nothing of it, I assumed that it was a modification carried out by the US before she was used during 2 atom bomb test.

recently I did a search for the Prince Eugen and found out this picture was actually what Cybermax was talking about. she had taken at least one torpedo hit off of the British submarine HMS Trident. This picture was taken in Norway in May 1942 and it looks like she is about to be moved back to Germany to undergo proper repairs.

In May 1942, the repairs had been completed and Prinz Eugen moved back to Germany in an opartion called 'Zauberflöte' (magic flute, named after the opera by Mozart). The cruiser came under attack of British bombers, but they failed to hit the ship. The repairs to replace her stern would last until October, followed by a two-month trial period.
