Going on

When building the Akebono (DE 201) class escort (also referred to as 'B' type escort), two more ships were built, with diesels by Mitsubishi. These ships having the same armament, sensors as the Akebono, but by having diesels, they were slightly shorter and had one funnel. These ships were the Ikazuchi class, also known as 'B' type escorts.

During the post war era the JMSDF built its ship in three distinct phases. The second phase was built during the late 1960's and early 1970's, ships that though armed with American supplied weapons had Japanese electronics for the most part. All Japanese ships of that time were anti-submarine warfare oriented, and so the Chikugo class was born. These ships were the smallest ships ever to ASROC in the famous box-launcher.

Very sweet shipmate And yes, this was the smallest hull ever to ship ASROC, which gives all kitbashers a good pointer.

I would encourage the use of the new ASROC (torpedo version only!), which can be found on the USN weapons sheet. Otherwise, a fine drawing.

Kumano was a sleek looking hull if I ever saw one..Superb drawings mate.

Excellent drawing Novice. Nice to see this thread re-starting, I've always had a soft-spot for Japanese designs.
