Is the azipod at the aft of the sonar a joke?
It's a pop-out auxiliary propeller for harbor tugless maneuvering, it pops back into the hull when not in use.
It also serves as an emergency get-home propulsion system. The HDMS Thetis has had to do that twice now after encountering black ice in the arctic. (Clear fresh water ice with no air bubbles in it that floats just below the surface)
