Excellent Maomaic, you have the touch that I some times lack for bringing the minor details to life.

The squadron emblems are excellent too. I did ask Kim about these some time ago, so he also may have found some to add to any future drawings.

As I said in our PM's I am more than happy for you to finish this series. I have no claim on them.

Hi,

another quick post:

S-204 - call sign "Lang" - was part of 4. Schnellbootflottille operating in the English Channel.

The boat had the dubious honor of being the first Kriegsmarine surface unit to surrender after WW2 ended.
She was handed over to the British in Felixstowe and was later awarded to the Soviet Union.
The Soviets renamed her as "TK 1020" and she was scrapped in 1954.

cheers

Hi,

I'd like to show you my depiction of the very first modern German Schnellboot: "S-1"

It was commissioned in August 1930 with the cover designation "UZ(S) 16" - Unterseebootzerstörer Schnellboot ("Submarinedestroyer") and was extensively used for trials.
The vessels' designation was changed in 1931 into "W-1" - Wachboot ("Guardboat").

From the start, it was armed with two 50cm torpedo-tubes, which could be dismounted to hide them from Allied intelligence.
They were officially fitted in 1933, when the boats' designation was finally changed into S-1.

In 1934 the 50cm torpedo-tubes were replaced with 53,3cm ones.

The boat was sold to Spain in 1936 and was renamed into "Badajoz".
