@novice: that's the Nakajima E2N (altough it sported a sdlighty different paintjob than the one i've drawn, it may be good for another version.)

@heuhen: thanks for the Mutsu pic, but i already have it  , about the bridge upper windows, that's actually my first choice to show open windows with no fixed roof above (that's why the ones on the spotting top are outlined in black and filled with gray)

i might be able to post Mutsu as of 1931 this evening (european time) if i have enough time.

Excellent Nagato :D One of the better looking Japanese warships, apart from that modified funnel.

here is mutsu as of 1931:

[ img ]

she was fitted between 1927 and 1931 with a clipper bow (while Nagato retained the old straight stem), furter modifications where made to the spotting platforms on the massive heptapodal mast on both ships, also a Nakajima E2N was embarked, there was no catapult and the floatplane need to be lowered in the water for take off, so a boom was fitted on the mainmast in order to operate the plane.

They look quite similar, my bad.

i've fixed some points on the 1931 Mutsu, and while i'm at it i can try drawing the Yokosuka E1Y2

do you intend to draw the Nagato as she looked during Operation Crossroads?

as she looked in 1945 before Japan surrender, with increased anti-aicraft armament and cut down funnel and mainmast to improve weapons firing arcs, yes; in the decaying and tattered state, with heavy unrepaired battle damage, as she was sent to Bikini atoll to be sunk by nuclear bombs, no.
Also if i'm not wrong drawing heavily damaged ships it's not part of Shipbucket policies, and even if it was the case i still would not; she is my favourite battleship, i might be exaggerated but i already regret the fact she was sunk as target instead beign preserved, she was the only IJN battleship left, i have not the will to draw her in that state.
