No, jokes aside, the flutes are the 'V'-shaped rises at the aft floatplanes on either side of the center, I e the. Curvy wavy lines you've got extending from the sternpost to just abaft of the outer prop shaft casing. And the boat is not the. Correct one, I can tell you that much. As for the electronics I'll let Colo look into that.

-- This was originally a rude and counterproductive post that I have since edited to the tl;dr version --

What bothers me the most is that your drawing is obviously a straight trace of this drawing: http://fc03.deviantart.net/fs70/f/2011/ ... 48web7.png

Use something like this instead: The revised booklet of general plans prepared during the ship's final Mare Island refit

In short, Karle needs to slow down and spend more time researching. This drawing was produced in a matter of hours by tracing a poorly-drawn original and with no real research outside of the easy stuff (some of which was wrong anyway). I will let the rest of the board assist Karle with this drawing as I feel I can no longer help him without getting unnecessarily angry and impatient.

For the V-shape, there is only one image that could be useful: This one http://www.navsource.org/archives/04/033/0403319.jpg

Sigh, I already feel bad for being rude, but seriously come on man... we've been through this at least a dozen times by now...

Actually, if you're smart, which I believe you are, just copy the underwater hull from the Northamptons that Brock and I drew! Why cross the creek to fetch water, when it's there, right in front of you! I've researched that particular section of those cruisers, that I can state that it's 100% accurate! And, since the Portlands shared, for all purposes the hull form and shape with the Northamptons, you really don't need to redo that part.
Besides, there are other pics. I've researched them, you can do the same.
I'm wholly with Colo, in criticizing the haste and unfortunate sloppiness with which you've produced this drawing!
Again, I urge a complete redraw, by all mean, use our Northamptons as reference or ballpark!

The V-shape is taken from the Northampton. I shall dedraw it using the plans Colo stated. i remember seeing it somewhere, but I was unable to find it again.

Those plans, being internal fitting sections doesn't show that aspect. Anyway, if you copied it from the Northamptons, somehow you managed to miscalculate where the aft most slope ends.

The Portland class has a slightly different stern, making it difficult for it to look the same as the northamton.
