This is a drawing of how Yamato was fitted in 1945. Alvama drawing is Yamato 1945 and not 1944.

I am not saying you are wrong, you are correct, however the drawing of the Yamato is in reference to how it looked before fitting out for operation ten go (she was in for repairs at least twice). Alex's drawing is also very good and correct, however I am confused on the subject of which month of 1945 this is trying to depict. This drawing is completely correct in portraying Yamato in the beginning of 1945. Yet as I have stated earlier and have specific documentation to support, The 25mm singles should be removed on the bow and 25mm triples should be but near the base of a and b turret (after being attacked in the inland sea, and in preparation for future engagements, Yamato was put in dry dock for repairs and slight upgrade). This is ONLY suggested if you are trying to depict her in her final days, other than that, another excellent drawing by alex :) .

I think Erusia Force has found the main source of discrepancies here, the Yamato had such a short operational lifespan, and had so many modifications during that short time, coupled with the fact that in the final months of the war, the Japanese destroyed much of their records, making any surviving images difficult to find as there are so few of them, that it is difficult to draw pinpointed at one specific time.

Exactly!!! Even Japanese experts have had disagreements over this exact issue, and knowing so few of the crew survived!! It is just like the confusion over the configuration and colors of the USS Arizona.

I have just spoken with Alex, and he has given me permission to update this drawing. I have built a 1/700 and 1/350 scale model which have passed IPMS inspection and I have good sources, so I promise that it will not disappoint!

I looked through the pictures to see if indeed there are any positions of plots caliber 25 mm at Yamato between October 1944 and April 1945, which were among the first gun tower 459 mm and the end of the beak of a ship.

[ img ]

As you can see in this picture, do not have any.
This image, which is the blueprint is very pretty, but science fiction. The radar antenna were not higher than the whole tower, were clearly a rectangle and not square, the tower B were 25 mm cannon, armor alongside the holes are ...

A photo dated nearly 20-25 mars 1945

And 1:10 scale model in Kure

Some of the most reliable graphic of Yamato is available at globalsecurity.com (paid access) - Look Alvama and compare

I'm not malicious, I do not like how someone in the name of unknown to me principles falsifies history.
In addition, in this way, having nothing in its defense and responding in this way.

Thank you for your attention, I apologize for the inconvenience

The 'photo dated 20-25 March 1945' is actually a black-and-white version of a painting.

Here's a much-higher resolution drawing...takes awhile to load, so be patient.

You are here administrator, so how can you not like it, that someone turns out to be more knowledgeable than Alvama quoted here, is that you remove the - show the same in how you treat enthusiasts and hobbyists.
Well I am not an admin here.

I can appreciate that your hobby is the Yamato, so it's understandable that you're upset that Alvama hasn't depicted it 100% correct. I'm not knowledgeable enough about the Yamato to comment on the accuracy of the drawing so I will leave that to the forum members with more free time than I have.

I also work a full time job (funnily enough, dealing with a translation application...) and have my own hobbies so I'm not sure if that is intended as a dig at me.

We don't need to remove anyone's posts. Contribution, no matter how it's presented, is still important.

The thing that bothers me about your posts is your aggressive and angry-sounding attitude. I'm not sure if this is due to the language barrier (from Polish to English which is totally understandable), or if you are actually mad and trying to be mean to Alvama. If you tell us that you are not trying to be mean, then I will believe you and the fight can stop.
