Here's a compendium thread for drawings of the four-stacker destoryers, namely the Caldwell, Wickes and Clemson classes.

Awesome work! There are so many guises of these ships that the board may never have them all!

Karle, only 2 gripes are, 1, that you used 2pix wide for the barrels of the 4"guns and not the 3pix standard that is in place, and, 2, the forward splinter shield looks very British, and does not look like what is shown in pictures. Other than that, absolutely stunning work on these early American Destroyers!

Mixed 2 and 3 pixels is better for a 4" gun, and the gun shield looks exactly what it's supposed to look like.

I'm interested in an good discussion here instead of the "it looks wrong" "It is correct" above? I'm interested why nighthunter thinks it is wrong ;)

I stand corrected I did read the Style guide, and it states that 4" is 2 pix. I prefer using 3 pix for detail reasons, and it was the original plan. I can't speak for Colosseum, but I use his most recent stuff which has 4" guns as 3 pix.

References for why I believe the splinter shield is drawn incorrectly:

I, and this is a personal opinion, think the 4" guns look better with 3 pix barrels. I apologize for not supplying actual reasons as to why I think the shield is drawn incorrectly.
