Good morning:
The first warship built from the keel in local shipyards was a modest PGM-71 in 1972. A class of two, the first one came directly from the USA, but the second was built in SIMA at Callao. After some years in the Navy, both were transfered to the Coastguard in mid 1970s. Here is the second one, Rio Chira, depicted as a Navy vessel in the 70s, and as a Coastguard boat in the late 90s.
