Nope, it was an actual fort built on top of an island, hence it's designation as a fort

I'm drawing a huge Dutch coastal defence fort in The Netherlands for my Royal Netherlands Navy Project 1860-1945, inclused a propose with a Snellboote bunker at the back of it!

The troops of Fort Drum took down the roof top barracks buildings at the start of the War in the Pacific and then later during the fighting with the Japanese knocked down their own mast because they thought it was being used as a target. So by the time she (or it?) had taken any serious damage there wouldn't be any major structures on the roof. Great idea drawing coastal defenses.
