Great work.

My father, Ben Nierop, now 97 and living in Toronto, was an engineer on the Kedoe during the war.

-Ferry for the North Carolina DOT. Can carry up to 30 vehicles and roughly 150 passengers. She is diesel-propelled and has a draft of only 4 feet, which makes her a great ferryboat for inshore work here in the sounds. Built in 1989, displaces 280 gross tons. 150 feet long, 42 feet wide. She is recently under question for replacement by a more modern vessel, as is the rest of her class of 7 ships. They have a mostly secondary role to the newer River-class ferries, which I might attempt to draw later. The River-class are much bigger and are double-ended, making them ideal for inshore maneuvering.

Nice effort, but your ship lacks some shading, which makes her look too flat.
Also I think your railings are too dark.
I can't see where those large squares, on the lower superstructure came from. I also think that two sloping lines, at the superstructure edge, could be made more smooth, and not as they are now, stepped.
Also look at her pictures again, to refine the details and again use some shading.

I believe the two masts are derrick posts and the there were deck hatches for the cargo.
