Don't apologise :D I think it's the right forum to ask questions about specific drawn vessels. The Thetis class is classified as a frigate with helicopter (FFH), but it is primarely a large patrol vessel (ocean patrol frigate) which can operate in icy water up to 80 cm thick solid ice. The main purpose was and is maintenance sovereignty (especially Greenland and Faroe Islands), search and rescue, fishery inspection etc.
Originally the class wasn't very powerful of political reasons. The last ten years the class have been upgraded with electronics and possibilities for more armament :)
