Well, maybe an overkill with the missiles. Granted. As for the Barak I (there's a Barak II in development and evaluation; a cooperation between Israel, South Africa and Chile with Romania as an interested side kick.) it is a superior missile with longer range, although still a short - to medium range missile. It's tracking and guidance system is said to be almost on par with the most modern European systems such as Sylver-Aster, hence why the development of the medium- to long-range Barak II is given some priority, although the constrained fiscal situations the concerned parties are experiencing have pushed the program back severely.
