| Post subject: | Regarding of advovating other communities and site on SB forums |
In our rules we have a clausure ...5. Do not use our forum as a venue for advertisement of another website. It is there mainly to disallow spam advertisement but It is also there to prevent people using our forum as stepping stone to recruit members to another communities and such. Reason why this is banned is the simple responsibility issue. Where we can be responsible of what takes over in our site and community, we cannot do that for the others, but if something dodgy goes on in those other places, we are still linked there without controll over what corresponds to our values and stands. The same logic aplies to DL huge filefolders and generally posting links here. Now, advocating places as alternative communities for SB is even more forbidden, since then the responsibility issue can get really blurry for the clueless, and confuse the newbies what is and what is not a shipbucket community. In our community, we have paid and donated (thanks to everyone who have helped us in such regards) actuall money to build the mainsite and maintain our hosting feeds. The work and effort put on the Wiki, forum and Mainsite has been huge and we are proud of them and those together our Discord server, we offer to those who wants to be part of SB community of drawing pixel art stuff in dedicated scales and drawing rules. If someone wants to join other communities that do the same, and even use our style, there is little we can do to that, and In any means we cannot ban such. But those communities can pay their own money and set up their own forums and do all the hard work themselves, if they want same promotion that we currently have. |
