Sounds like an idea that should work yeah. For military other than the guns she wouldn't have any other changes as far as I know other than a coat of grey paint? She wouldn't be fitted with fire control directors as many merchant vessels mounted with guns typically solely relied upon the guns own si...

Greetings, I'm curious if anyone has yet drawn this beautiful looking Lake Steamer still operating from Queenstown. I did a search but did not find anything so I'm thinking I might give her a go at drawing as my first real life ship if I can find enough details (most of the photos I find all seem to...

Nice. Slap a couple of 3in guns on her and she'll be able to pull double duty as a patrol boat. I actually considered that in the original design but I had a change of heart as I wanted her to be a civilian ship that is also used by the Navy. That said, I'm assuming having fittings for but not moun...

Well I wanted it to look like an early 20th Century icebreaker so I'm glad it was recognizable as one. Yeah I had great difficulty finding shipbucket pics of them (only found two actually in my searches) so they must not be as 'exciting' as warships. I like them though as they have a character of th...

Been a while in the making but here it is, the Guryev Class Icebreaker . http://i267.photobucket.com/albums/ii294/raptorva/GuryevClass.png One of the most important vessel types to Sieran, the icebreaker is essential in keeping the sealanes open during the 9 months of the year average when rivers an...

Indeed they do. In Sierans case the recruit pool is small but enough to man the available ships (at the expense of the Army which is small as current doctrine dictates that the Navy is the primary offensive and defensive branch of the defense forces. For my restraints I have to keep in mind who the ...

Yeah the turbine design does have a shorter belt if I remember correctly as well as slightly better performance but historically in this AU Steam Turbines were slow in development and the first reliable designs available to Sieran weren't until 1910. Until that date effectively all vessels continued...

Looks pretty good to me. Prop is a little crooked on the shaft but drawing angled props is rather tricky to do I've found.
Even though the original has them, if it were me I would remove some of those portholes as they are all weaknesses in the vessels structure.

Nobody with an opinion? I'm welcome for people to suggest their own design ideas as well. Only limitations are 8-10 12in guns, displacement of under 20,000t, dimensions not exceeding 555" x 85" (largest dockyard slipway and dry dock available in 1908), range of at least 4,000nm at 10 knots and prote...
