To put the damage into perspective, the tanker was carrying ~93,000 metric tons of cargo and the ship itself probably weighs somewhere around 20,000 metric tons on her own. I'm primarily looking for something that goes into the strategic thinking behind them. A comparison between the approach taken by NATO members and WARPAC members would be nice as well.

Books on the individual classes and ships are less relevant to me, but still welcome
