Well, Wikipedia quotes it as a Hospital ship, even though it disqualifies RFA Argus for carrying weapons. If we wanna be technical and follow Geneva convention to the letter (without any room for interpretation or innovation), what about Article 5 of Convention (X) for the Adaptation to Maritime War...

Thanks for the contribution to the debate. When you stop laughing your ass off, give it a thought and think about where do you draw the line between "weapons for defending the sick" and offensive weapons. I'm not necessarily stating that all Hospital ships should be armed with CIWS, but considering ...

Interesting, but the hospital ship should not have any weapons, not even SeaRAM. Yeah, that's something I was considering as well. But what is considered as defensive weapons tho? For this specific ship I actually read upon the Hague Peace Conference of 1907 and as far as I understand, the 1907 Hag...

Hi, in this project I decided to model series of ships, all based on Austal's Independence-class. Hope you like them :) Independence-class LCS2-18 4k image https://img00.deviantart.net/0619/i/2018/096/9/9/coronado_by_nepstercz-dc81ij8.png Commissioned in 2010 Standard Independence-class LCS hull Ind...

First of all; Great work NepsterCZ! Really talent work; we should see more. Trimaran concept, I read? Go, go, go... :) Second: No requirement of course, but it might be interesting to try out ideas with the shipbucket scale, because while drawing takes time, editing and trying things out is a lot e...

Okay, that explains it, thanks, guys. So they ship the new Burkes without, with the possibility of fast refit, in case of war, or something. Interesting. @acelanceloet Im not even surprised you spend hundreds of hours on research :D I did some for this project but compared to you, It seems like I'm ...

Yeah, I understand that. The DDG 85 to DDG 106 don't even have the part of the superstructure that should house the forward CIWS. But, out of nowhere, from the DDG106 up, they again, added the superstructure part, but without the CIWS. So is the Phalanx CIWS so, let's say, cost ineffective that addi...

Oh no, still here. I'm actually reading everything, every day. I just don't have anything to say :D Those are some interesting designs. I cant say I even understand why some of them were even projected. Especially the DDV1 variant seems just absurd to me, but hey ¯\_(ツ)_/¯. Don't expect me to do any...

I found this dissertation work , from 2010 done by Naval Postgraduate School student about "Hydrostatic and hydrodynamic analysis of a lengthened DDG-51 destroyer". He even talks about inserting 18 meters long midbody section. And even tho I won't pretend that I can fully understand everything said ...
