Thanks everyone for the positive feedback and the comments! Before I address these specifically, I realize that a few general clarifications are in order: 1) My mentioning only the mockup picture above and off-handedly Sokolov's line drawing was a bit misleading. I actually drew a lot of assumptions...

Hi everyone, I have been digging around a bit in unbuilt late Soviet designs for reasons I will develop later on, and I decided to try my hand at the weird-looking contraption known as Project 10210 Bizon. Some of you will probably remember the Bora missile corvette , which was the first Soviet/Russ...

Looks very nice, good to see more obscure designs coming up.
From the description and the drawing, I assume that it would have been a high-speed, long-range sea-going minesweeper for the escort of surface groups?

:o this looks incredible. A top-notch application of the new sub design you have developed lately. Now that I have picked my jaw up from the floor :) I must say that I second the remark on the tile pattern. The step between tiles should be proportionate to the apparent angle of the hull. Not sure ho...

I know there are some shading issues, particularly in the top view, but I'm not totally sure how to draw them... I have to glance at others top-views until I decide how to proceed... By the way, those boxes are supposed to be the KT-216 decoy launchers, (you can see another pair at stern) and, afte...

*phew* got it!

Looks to be Project 15966, although I only have the one source for it. Took a lot of Google-wringing to get the project name, strangely.
According to the Russian version, the class designation should be Большой морской танкер, but no guarantees.

What eswube said, plus if you don't speak Russian, cross-check that list with the English version project by project so you can see what the designations mean. If you open the pages for specific projects, you will see that most list ships named by the acronym of the class plus a number, which will g...

AU and personal design is a forum thing.. The archive for the real thing. After reading some more... To get your AU or personal design in the archive, should be sort of bonus. I'll come back to it when I get home. I agree on the need of policing the non-IRL designs, but I see two "simple" ways of s...

Looks really nice and functional, I like how you "russified" the design by going all overboard on the SAM loadout :D The drawing is pretty good, the top view is very informative, particularly for a large flat-top like that. One note though, it feels like it could use some more relief. On the bow wea...
