DD 231-235. Also, DD 208 and DD 209 had 4 twin mount 4" guns.

Spruance kept Sea Sparrow throughout her career, didn't she? As first launched, the Spruance had lots of empty deck space, and lots of open hull space reserved for additional equipment. CIWS was one of those additions.

I think there are also ROE issues with using Harpoon in a BVR role. There are concerns that a Harpoon that misses its target may target a civilian vessel (cruise liner or oil tanker in a worst case).

maybe you should look which forum this is in. never build! I cannot change it for something like that, as I have not invented this concept, only drawn it. that said first of all, this is supposed to be an easy modification with large firepower. the hangars were used for harpoon reloads. there seems...

The Mk 13 can already launch Harpoon, so I'm not sure it's worth losing the flight deck for more of them. Is there a way to keep a helicopter capability and add Tomahawks? Maybe switch the hanger to a single-bay, centerline version, with two VLSs on either side (inverted Burke IIA arrangement).
