I apologize for coming to this late, but I noticed the foremast lacks the exhausts for the reactor compartment ventilation you see on all the D2G designs.

I was under the impression the Flight II was intended to replace the Whidbey Island/Harpers Ferry LSDs.

Same with the ex-DLGNs. On the Californias, No. 1 Reactor was under the ASROC launcher and No.2 was between the masts. It allowed for auxillary machinery rooms on either side.

As a former CGN sailor, may I suggest a matched pair of Mr. & Mrs. D2G. There's not enough power for 2 shafts otherwise.

Yeah, unfortunately, the idea of nuclear powered ships sounds great until you have to refuel them in ten or fifteen years. Ultimately, losing the CGNs was probably for the best, since the CG-47s have turned out to be pretty capable warships. And I only meant politics getting in the way because Cong...

So it looks like Reactor Compartments back to back under the Harpoon launchers. That'll work. On the USN CGN's #2 Reactor was midships like that.

With Mk13 launchers I assume you are using 3rd Gen reactors (D2G/D2W equivalent). In that case you should be aware of the need for access to refuel every 20 years or so. Newer core designs are life-of-the-ship and don't need overhead access but the older ones do.

Beautiful work on the final configuration SoCar. The only nit I can pick is that the Sailor Phone antenna was aft of the INMARSAT anntenna vice beside it. Horrible crying shame we decomm'ed so soon after refuelling.
