Hi K, One suggestion - I seem to recall that for a lot of lighter combatants one fairly easy and widely-followed practice was for one of the two torpedo mounts to be removed and replaced with AA or ASW gear, depending on the role of the ship. Have you explored such a possibility for these? Cheers, Ad

If the software works, will you be looking for other customers, if only to defray costs, or will the developer retain rights?

Hi Krakatoa, Yeah, I've seen that too - but not on quad turrets - I've hacked together something to show what I'm talking about - on a new work PC (a new work, actually, hence the new PC) - it's only got Paint, so apologies for the rough-and-ready nature of the thing, but here goes: https://dl.dropb...

Hi K, A quick question - are you sure about those turrets? A quick look at both Dunkerque and Richelieu classes reveals a fairly significant step at the front of the quad turrets: http://shipbucket.com/Real%20Designs/France/BB%20Dunkerque%201940.png [spoiler="Richelieu] http://shipbucket.com/Real%20...

Hi all,

To jump on the bandwagon - the destroyer does look nice, but structurally I'd be concerned about the hull right around the forecastle ... that's a fairly big change in hull depth and the join is a 90 degree angle.

Is this one of those "believable flaws" things or an oversight?

Adam

The Mighty Jingles did a developer chat with some of the WoWs team last night ... basically, they've said that there probably won't be a distinct heavy cruiser line, basically because there wasn't a significant RN heavy cruiser line for them to use in the first place. They also mentioned that the re...

Hi Krakatoa, Looking better, I think, but I have a couple of queries: If we're proceeding as with the displayed Ark Royal picture, with the stress-bearing structure inboard of the hull plates to permit the boat galleries and the like - I'm assuming here that the entire vertical height of the bridge ...

Hi Krakatoa, One thing I might suggest for your revised carrier is something that was referenced off another thread (one of David Latuch's very first threads, I believe) - use of sponsons wherever possible to minimize intrusions into the hull girder. Aircraft, obviously, are going to have to have ac...
