But the question then becomes one of what missions it should take on. Should the "World Police" really be led by America, or should it be more equally distributed? NATO looked to the US during the air war over Yugoslavia and NATO looked to the US for the Libyian operation so its not the US muscling...

imo the best way to fix the US economy would be to do two things 1. Stimulus. Not for the banks, GM, etc, but give money to citizens. Then people have money to spend, and it restarts circulation. 2. Cut defense spending. Honestly, does America need 12 carriers when the rest of the world combined do...

That's not a good move. It was our freakin govt that was pressuring banks to loan money to folks who couldn't pay back and some folks I know in banking are telling me that they are doing it again. They crap will hit the fan again and drag the Canadian banks down with them.

I couldn't recall if Iceland was in the EU or not but most of Europe is in the same shape as the US. We are just the worst. Japan and South Korea have problems too. Japan has been in a long recession before the earthquake and that just made things worse.

Yes my point exactly. Also the Aussie dollar has gained a lot of ground with the US dollar. Nations have been quietly getting rid of USD's and bonds also China and Russia have called for a new reserve currency to replace the USD.

The US is falling faster than China. We are in freefall with the wings sheared off while China has lost engine power and is in glide mode as it drops.
