Wow! I never knew. I knew they designed that into the Mk-57's but I didn't know that about the Mk-41's.
Oh well another rabbit hole chased, but I learned something.
Thanks for the info

You might try to draw your engineering plant and see if it fits. For example the width of the engineering space for a DD-1000 is about 60' the length is about 205'. It has about ten feet of additional hull surrounding the space on each side (The hull is 80 ft wide). In that space are two MT30s with ...

Eeo Not sure what you mean by a nice, static, salt-free environment like a steel mill? Have you ever been in a steel mill? As an Electricians Mate in the navy I've seen many motors on deck exposed to the weather. These motors are sealed against the environment. In fact some motors are made to operat...

Columbamike, I work in a steel mill where we use 4-50hp motors for bridging to move 300 ton lift capacity cranes weighing about 320 ton. They are moving top speed between 5 and 7 mph. I added 100hp as a just in case, it also will have excellent braking capacity with VFD and Regen Unit. Most of my id...

NavyGuy658 This is what I'm working on for a silo conversion. It uses 6-50hp motors (controlled by VFD drives) with 24" overhead crane type wheels (railroad) and 6 idler wheels. These wheels would run on 4 rails to clear the barbett. A power track would supply power to mobile armored cover which at ...

Nice drawing but I think the designers forgot what happened to the Hood. To me, all those explosives, unarmored always spoke of one hit one kill. Not what a Battleship was built for. I've been working on a design that would remove the aft turret and place the VLS tubes inside the barbett. An armored...

Nice. I personally love the Tillman's. aren't those 16 x 50's on the IV-1 & IV-2? a question about the shading on the stacks, the barbettes and anything round, shouldn't the light color be at the most forward? i am going to try and recolor my Alabama as you suggested but I noticed that and was wonde...

Karl94
Finally got to work on those changes.
What do you think?
I'll do the colors change after I get the bugs worked out of this.
